So How The Heck Do You Make Sure
That The Tower Is Straight Up And
Down, I tried Levels on the legs
and on the crossbars. Nothing
was close enough for my satisfaction
so one of my ham friends suggested a plumb bob
Here's How I did That.


The Top 2 Pictures Show the bottom of the tower
triangulated for the center of the bottom section.
The Bottom picture is really the top of the
30 foot tower and shows a triangular
plywood section, carefully plotted for the
center of the top section, a line from top to
bottom with a plumb bob shows dead center in the
string matrix on the bottom tower section.
Math says that a 1/4" deviation at the bottom
is equal to .02 degrees at the top and as you can see
from the plumb bob I got it pretty darn close to perfect.
